About Raxsteel Electric Power Fittings
Raxsteel is a specialized manufacturer of electric power fittings for overhead transmission and distribution lines. Our product range covers the full hardware assembly — from ball-and-socket fittings (ball clevis, ball eye, ball hook, U clevis) that connect insulator strings to tower crossarms, to line clamps (suspension clamps, tension clamps, NX clamps, UT clamps) that secure conductors along the span. All products are manufactured from forged carbon steel or aluminum alloy with hot-dip galvanization, ensuring long service life in coastal, industrial, and tropical environments.
With over 1,000 moulds in stock and a semi-automatic forging production line, we fulfill standard orders in 15–25 working days. A dedicated QC team performs dimensional checks and second-time selection before every shipment. We supply EPC contractors, utilities, and trading companies across Russia/CIS, South America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa — and accept custom OEM designs to local grid standards including GOST, IEC, ANSI, and AS/NZS.

Case Study
- Project: 110kV Overhead Transmission Line — Russia
- Application: Suspension & Tension Clamps for ACSR 240/32 conductor
- Demand: A Russian power utility required full fitting sets to IEC 60120 and GOST standards, with hot-dip galvanization for -50°C winter conditions. Raxsteel supplied 2,400 sets CGU suspension clamps, 800 sets NLD-2 tension clamps, and 4,800 pcs ball clevis and U clevis — shipped within 28 days with SGS inspection reports.
- Recommended products: Suspension Clamp CGU, NLD Tension Clamp, Ball Clevis
Application & Installation
Electric power fittings from Raxsteel are deployed across all voltage levels — from 11kV rural distribution poles to 500kV UHV transmission towers. Our hardware is compatible with all mainstream conductor types including ACSR, AAC, AAAC, and OPGW, and has been installed in over 30 countries across diverse climatic conditions including arctic cold, tropical humidity, and salt-spray coastal environments.
Each fitting is engineered for fast field installation without special tools. Suspension clamps, ball-socket hardware and yoke plates can be assembled into I-string, V-string or double-string configurations within minutes. Tension clamp sets come pre-assembled and ready to install, reducing site labour time and the risk of assembly errors.

Electric Power Fittings — Detailed Guide
What are electric power fittings?
Electric power fittings (also called overhead line fittings or transmission line hardware) are the mechanical components that connect, support, and terminate conductors, earth wires, and insulator strings on overhead power lines. They are used across the full voltage range — from 11 kV distribution lines to 500 kV and above UHV transmission lines. Without reliable power fittings, insulators cannot be properly connected to towers, and conductors cannot be safely clamped or tensioned.
Ball and socket fittings
Ball-and-socket fittings — including ball clevis, ball eye, ball hook, U clevis, yoke plate, and Z clevis — form the structural chain that connects the insulator string to the tower hardware. They are manufactured from forged carbon steel and hot-dip galvanized to IEC 60120 ball-and-socket dimensions. The ball-and-socket joint allows angular movement in all directions, which is essential to accommodate conductor sag changes, wind loading, and tower geometry. Raxsteel supplies these in standard 70 kN, 100 kN, 120 kN, 160 kN, and 210 kN breaking load classes, with custom higher-load options available on request.
Line clamps
Suspension clamps hold the conductor at intermediate (tangent) towers, allowing the conductor to pass through while bearing its vertical weight. Tension (dead-end) clamps terminate the conductor at angle and dead-end towers, transferring the full mechanical tension of the span into the tower structure. NX clamps (parallel groove clamps) and UT clamps are used for conductor-to-conductor and tap connections. All Raxsteel clamps are designed for ACSR, AAC, AAAC, and OPGW conductors, with aluminum alloy bodies for suspension and NX types to prevent galvanic corrosion, and galvanized steel bodies for UT and tension clamps that require higher mechanical strength.
