110kV Transmission Line Project — Electric Power Fittings Supply to Russia
Project Background
A power utility in Russia required a complete set of IEC-compliant overhead line fittings for a new 110kV transmission line project. The project called for suspension clamps, tension clamps, and ball-and-socket hardware capable of withstanding extreme winter temperatures down to −50°C and heavy ice-loading conditions.
Project Requirements
- All fittings to comply with GOST and IEC 60120 / IEC 61284 standards
- Hot-dip galvanized surface with minimum 85µm zinc coating
- Conductor: ACSR 240/32, 110kV double-circuit tower line
- Quantity: 2,400 sets suspension clamp CGU • 800 sets NLD tension clamp • 4,800 pcs ball clevis and U clevis
- Delivery required within 30 days, FOB Shanghai
Raxsteel’s Solution
Raxsteel supplied the full hardware package from existing stock combined with fast-track production. All suspension clamps featured aluminum alloy bodies with stainless steel U-bolts, specifically rated for ACSR 240/32 conductor. Tension clamps were NLD-2 wedge type, providing full grip on the outer conductor strands without damaging the core.
Ball clevis and U clevis fittings were forged from Q345 steel and hot-dip galvanized to IEC 61284 requirements. Each fitting was individually inspected during production and again before packaging, with dimensional records kept on file.
Results & Delivery
SGS third-party inspection reports and full material mill certificates were provided with the shipment. The complete order was shipped within 28 days — two days ahead of the client’s deadline. Zero non-conformances were reported during installation inspection on site.
The client has since placed repeat orders for two additional line sections, citing product quality and reliable delivery as the key reasons for returning. This project is representative of Raxsteel’s ability to fulfil large, specification-driven orders on tight schedules.
