Where it is used
The transformer lead pin supports the insulated lead that runs from a pole-mounted transformer bushing to the line or to the secondary rack. It holds a small pin or spool insulator that keeps the energised lead clear of the tank, bracket and pole during normal service and switching.
Installation sequence
- Mount the pin on the transformer bracket or pole by bolt or clamp.
- Fit the pin / spool insulator onto the stud.
- Dress the transformer lead into the insulator groove.
- Maintain clearance from the tank and other phases.
- Secure the lead so it cannot swing into the structure.

Bolt-through suits a drilled transformer bracket; a clamp mount grips the bracket edge where you cannot drill. Both hold the small lead loads of a single transformer lead.
